My woodcut "Incandescent" explores the intense feelings of connection that I experienced while hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Sitting by the side of a river, joined by my favorite companions had me meditating on how amazing the natural world is. In that moment I felt very connected to my friends as well as the awe-inspiring power of the earth. Carving images into wood is a secondary meditation of this moment, as it is a very prolonged and involved process.
